Default Horrible Experience with Lift

So I got a lift about 2 months and it is by far the biggest disappointment I have had since I got my Jeep. I rarely complain about anything but I have to ask these questions to see if anybody has some input that could be useful before I take this lift off and can get back to enjoying my Jeep. I have many regrets about getting this lift.

Regret 1: I bought a Ready Lift spacer lift that is 2.0" Rear and 3.0" Front. I should not have settled for this lift especially since I had never seen any reviews on this forum about this brand. I really wanted the Teraflex system but settled for what was available.

Regret 2: I had a local Truck accessories shop install this lift only because my dad has used this guy for our business work vehicles and we wanted to help local business. I work with 3 different guys who have all been life long jeep enthusiast who all offered to help me with the install. All three of these guys probably could have done a whole lot better on the install.

Regret 3: Getting a lift period. I am running 33" tires but don't need a lift to clear them and I know this because I had them before I had the lift. I off road maybe 3 days out of the month, but nothing that requires a lift. The lift is 100% for looks. Yes I admit it.

Now for my major complaints. This lift didn't last 2 days before I started hearing a popping noise coming from the rear passengers side tire. About one day after I started hearing the popping noise I started hearing a squeaking noise that sounded awful. I had no idea what was wrong so I took it back to the shop and the temporarily fixed it. This didn't last 2 days before the Squeak started again. So back to the drawing board. Also when I went off road for the first time I heard all kinds of popping from what sounded like the front sway bar.

I just shook this noise off and drove it for a while thinking the noise may work itself away. I also wasn't sure if this was common but then realized that there is no way possible this is right. So after having the lift about 8 weeks I have taken it back to the shop that installed the lift. The man in charge said the squeak could be coming from the spacer rubbing against the spring. To solve this problem he suggested he spray the spacer with some kind of rubberized bed liner he sprays in trucks. What this would do I have no clue but by this time I am so sick and tired of this lift I was willing to try anything. Now less than 1 week later the squeak is BACK. Now I am to the point where I don't even care to get my money back or anything just to get rid of this poor excuse of a lift.

Sorry to sound so negative but I can't stand for my 2011 Jeep with 25,000 miles sound like a 1984 pick-up truck with 300,000 miles that has been rode hard and put up wet. If anybody on this Forum has any kind of advice, criticism, past experience or ANY kind of input I would love to hear it.

Some times the lessons we learn really suck. I've found that impatience is at the root of many of them. Spend some more time researching things and asking knowledgeable people some questions and for ideas. Just because you have time and money invested in the project doesn't mean you should press on with it. Cut your losses and remove the lift. Do it yourself so you don't get burned again. Don't modify the material--It won't work. Sell it on flea bay.

There is a "soft" oem spring isolator that should have been reinstalled between the springs and the spacers. It sounds like your shop neglected to do that. That should help with the squeek.

As for your worries about the brand of lift, most coil spacers are pretty much the same. They are just pieces of plastic that come in varying sizes. The differences in the quality of kits relies mostly on the components that come with them.

I should not have settled for this lift especially since I had never seen any reviews on this forum about this brand.
People asked about this company a few years back. At that time, if you read the fine print on their warranty it stated something to the effect of "warranty is null and void the second you take your vehicle offroad." They have since changed the warranty to cover offroad use, but I think that is the biggest reason that their lifts never caught on here. (and being super tall spacers instead of coils would also factor in, I guess.)

I work with 3 different guys who have all been life long jeep enthusiast who all offered to help me with the install.
Lesson learned. You have help to take it back off, at least.

The lift is 100% for looks. Yes I admit it.
Nothing wrong with that. It's your jeep, it's supposed to be modded to your liking.

To solve this problem he suggested he spray the spacer with some kind of rubberized bed liner he sprays in trucks. What this would do I have no clue
probably the same thing as the stock isolators. As noted above, check to see if those are still installed.

One other thing you might check is whether the suspension is bound up at all. (loosen all of the suspension bolts while it is on the ground (not on a lift), shake it and bounce on the bumpers a few times, then tighten everything back up.

Looking at the pic and parts list, I don't see extended swaybar links? Do you still have the stock links on?

And if you decide to remove it --> they aren't listed that I saw, but it sure looks like that kit has cam bolts. If they were installed, and if you choose to remove them, you will want to get those holes welded back up.

Thanks Brosefs

If I knew how I would post a sound clip of the squeak so everyone could hear how ridiculous it is.

It's not the lift, it's improper install. We had this exact lift on our JK and the quality of it owns the Teraflex spacer lift. It's a metal spacer kit & it sounds like the shop didn't put the rubber isolator back in. We had no problems with that kit & took it on a 5000 mile round trip from BC to Moab etc and it preformed great off and on road.

Deff nothing wrong with that kit as it is very good quality. I bet it's 100% install related.

I am going back to the shop to discuss everything with the owner on Tuesday and I will definitely suggest that to him and see what he says.

before you go back, get under your Jeep and look at everything, mostly to see if the isolator is there.
If you're not sure about all discussed, get your friends to help you identify everything - have they helped in trying to solve the squeak?
nothing worse then getting a bad install.
Go armed with knowledge that you know what should be on the Jeep etc...
