Default Hot Gears

Well i had new gears installed about five hundred miles ago . I broke gears in driveing about ten miles to work and same home for times a day and today i pushed a little further about 30 miles and had a hot smell like something burning and now jeep seems like im drag around a boat anchor didnt smell like gear oil just like some thing hot wonder if gears set to tight also gears sound louder now and tried to put hand on back axle and it was burning hot couldnt keep it there but front was about half as hot figured it was because rear is drive and fronts just spinning Thanks any thoughts

Sounds like you should take it back to the installer and have them open it up for an inspection.

Sounds like something is amiss with the gear install. Please post up what you find out on Monday, and good luck!

I took it back in to shop they opened front and rear diff and completely took apart and couldn't find any thing even had me go take a look. Jeep still feels like under a load all the time and tranny down shifts at any movement of the gas pedal any ideas.

Pinch a brake line or foul up the emergency brake cable?
