I'm going to be picking up some 285/70r17 duratracs for my new sport. Temporarily, until I order Aev wheels, I'm going to mount them on the stock wheels. I searched and I know this will rub at full lock, but will it be ok for a month or so of street driving? Also, will the spare still be able to be mounted on the stock tailgate with no modifications? My jeep is stock other than a AEV front bumper. I don't want to use spacers if possible since I intend on getting new wheels.

Should be good for street use.

Why mount and balance 5 wheels and tires if its only going to be a month or so? I'd wait on the new wheels.

Craigslist purchase, and the local shop where I'm meeting to do the swap will buy my tires. What about the spare?

I think the OEM wheels with the new tires will be ok on the tire carrier. You may have an issue with the new ones with the different backspacing if the tire doesn't press on the rubber stops - it will bounce around some and possibly damage the mount or 'gate'. You may need to get slightly longer bumps.
