Default How to Disable Jeep

Hey guys,

Been searching and can't seem to find this one. Back when I had a TJ, I could pull a fuse to disable the starter if I was leaving my rig in a parking lot overnight. Is there an easy way to do that for the JK? Thanks in advance.

I don't think it's necessary to remove any fuses. Stealing modern vehicles these days is almost impossible to steal with-out the keys.

The Jeep JK uses a Sentry key system- even if thieves hot-wire it, the engine won't run for more than 2 or 3 seconds. I tried to make a spare key for my JK and found this out the hard way. As far as I know, this hasn't been hacked... yet.

While highly unlikely, it's not impossible.

Far from impossible with a good hacker. You can get an OBD cover that locks with a key. That's what I did.

These guys stealing Jeeps using a laptop had to have a key to start with that would operate the lock, then used the laptop to bypass the anti theft programming. Keep your VIN on your dash covered so no one can use it to make a key.

If you think newer Jeeps are safer your wrong. Here in SOCAL the Jeep is a hot item. I use a RELVELCO.

This is new to me. From the article, it seems that criminals are able to request duplicate Sentry keys from Jeep without the owner's permission. That's not even technologically advanced, it's just good old fashioned social engineering. Jeep needs to get their shit together.
