Yeah welding a socket on is prob the way to go.

Use a metric socket the size smaller than the sae lug wrench, works perfect.

You could always drive it down to a discount tire store or some other place and ask them what they do. I’m sure they have had to see this before. I am no mechanic but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night.
