Question How do I remove the Rear Axles

Like the title says, I am installing a set of 5.13's in my Jeep. Got the front done no problem, but the rear is giving me trouble.

How are the rear axles retained, I have removed the 4 nuts on the back side of the axle flange and looked for C-Clips in the carrier. I can't figure it out. The axles are still in there good, no amount of pulling so far has even budged them.

It's a '07 Rubicon by the way.

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

Mike

What we found out at SMORR is that a pry-bar might be needed. But, we were (I say we, I was watching) working on the front and the splines were tweaked a little and it took a pry-bar to get it out.

Good luck...

I will give that a try, but there is not much to pry against.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks David, I spoke with you earlier. I don't have a slide hammer so I was looking for other alternatives. Looks like I am going to go buy one.

Thanks for the help.

A length of stout chain and a strong arm is all you need. Get about 36" of chain, attach each end to a wheel stud. Get plenty of slack in the chain and snatch that puppy right on out. Works everytime.
