Default How do the Rugged Ridge tubular steps mount?

that is, do they bolt to the frame, or the lower body seam? does the bracketry hang down? I'm looking for side steps with minimal ground clearance reduction.

Any recommendations?

thanks

I would guess the body seam and bottom of the tub, like the other budget nerf bars. They certainly don't hurt your clearance, but they don't serve as jacking points either.

You do realize that adding steps is to decrease the step up height, and minimizing the difference between the door and the step minimizes the point of the steps, right? I use mine to stop door dings, because I don't use them to get into my Jeep, because they are up too high.

Thank you, that's helpful. I'm actually concerned about the hardware under the bars; the mopar running board things have sheet metal brackets that mount from below and extend down quite a bit. That's what I'm looking to avoid; things sticking down. Any other thoughts?

Quadratec sells them in 2" diameter or 3" (3-inch looks better) - Give them a call, I've always found them VERY helpful and knowledge for all products they stock.
