How do you secure your winch?

Well honestly I have the Warn front bumper, winch and a skid plate (it's a custom skid plate but, it's pretty much exactly the same as warns). Never the less to get my winch off isn't a easy task and that in it self might be enough to deter someone. The only way to the winch bolts is through the fog light holes. To get the fog lights out you need to really work at getting you hand up into the back of the bumper. With the skid plate in place this isn't easy! Without the skid plate it's pretty easy. Also I zip tied the Fog light wiring really short so to move them (the fog lights) you need to cut the zip ties first. Only after you remove/move the fog lights can you get to the winch bolts. But, since I needed to thread the thimble through the hawse fairlead before I attached it to the winch barrel (synthetic rope). Not to mention getting the D-Ring Shackle off the thimble isn't easy either. So while they certainly could do all this walking down the street with a winch with yellow rope, hawse fairlead, winch plate and D-Ring Shackle might be a little more than they bargained for! But then again maybe this is exactly what they want!
But.... to top it all off I have a custom bull bar which is directly over the winch. Since the remote is behind the bar they would need to remove the bull bar or the remote first to slide the winch and everything else forward. They better show up with a toolbox!
