Default How to find gear ratio on a 2012

I keep posting that my 2012 is just fine with the 35’s I put on it with the 3.73 gears. Someone posted a graph showing the Penstar at 70mph with different gears and different tire size. According to that chart I have 4.10 on the nose! I think it has 3.73’s because that’s what the salesmen told me it had. I thought after I drove it a while that it was geared lower than 3.73’s so I have been all over that thing looking for a marking. Years ago Dana put a tag on one of the differential cover bolts and obviously they don’t anymore. So I just forgot about it until now after looking at that chart it has me wondering again and maybe that’s why I think its just fine with the 35’s. I know there is a way of counting drive shaft revolutions versus tire rotations. Does anyone know the equation for it?? Thank you.!!

Jack the jeep up, put it on jack stands, put a mark on the inside of one tire at the bottom, turn the tire by hand on full revolution counting how many times the drive shaft makes full revolutions. That gives you your gear ratio.(example: tires spun on revolution, drive shaft spun a hair more than 4 times.= 4.10 gears. just shy of 4 revolutions 3.73
