Default How to get a spring in place?

I'm installing my RK 2.5" flex lift. I got the driver's side front spring installed with no issues. But I can't get the passenger side one in no matter how I try. I've dropped the axle on that side as far as I can go (due to the brake lines) and I still need another inch of clearance. Is a ring compressor my next move? Thanks!

That's probably the easiest way if you can get to an autozone or napa or whoever is local to you that rent them. I used coil compressors on my old 2.5" lift. When I did my 3.5 I had my jeep on a lift and was swapping brake lines so it was easier.

Try loosening all the bolts on your control arms. This will allow more droop. Place a jack stand on the drivers side axle. This will act as an anchor point so that you can push down on the passenger axle to allow the spring to be installed. As for your brake line, did you unbolt the bracket by the frame? I was able to install 3 lifts (2.5" TF, 2.5" RK & 1.5" TF coil lifts) with out the need of springs compressors...best of luck..keep us posted...

I've got a jack under the driver's side axle and lifted it up to help with the droop on the passenger side. I did disconnect the brake line bracket, that helped a lot. Still couldn't get that final bit of clearance though. I'm leery of the spring compressors, but hopefully I only need a little bit of compression to make it that final step.

If the spring compressor doesn't work or is not available to you, remove the caliper.

^^^Winner! Remove the 2-21 mm bolts that are holding the caliper on. The ABS wire unplugs behind the frame as well.

Success! Finally got it. Had to use the spring compressor a bit. Thanks everyone for all your help and suggestions.
