Unfortunately, in the last 2 months I've had two friends loose their jeeps because a duplicate was made from a dealer. The chip is great if their not using a copy. All they do is take a pic of your Vin and bam, one phone call and a key is made for your ride. I rather add a kill switch and not a battery disruption under the hood. I rather be able to flip a switch instead of un latching my hood in snow to start my car.

Crooked dealership?! Stealing Jeeps?! Or making keys without verifying ownership?! That's crazy. I would report that.
Ron, I know if you only have one key you can't program a new one, you have to go to the dealership for that. Meaning they can program one without the keys or get a replica of the one that is missing, i.e. already programmed in.

All the jeeps owners that I know personally bought at Don Whites in Timonium MD, yes the police know but little they have been able to do. Unfortunately this is where my jeep was bought as well. Yes a jerk at the dealer ship is cutting duplicate keys for someone. I only know two people this has affected but the police told my bud that there are others.

...and hidden. Otherwise they're useless. And you need to be able to set it without anyone being able to tell. Because if they want your Jeep, they will watch you once they know there is a kill switch in there.

[QUOTE=" Have thieves figured out a way to fool the immobilizer?[/QUOTE]
I have to say yes some, I work for a dealer and we had a FX4 stolen from the lot we had both sets of keys, couldn't flat bed the truck from were it was located and when they found it it was trashed with a couple of thousand miles put on it the ignition switch lock cylinder was broken apart so they could turn it without the key but they must have something to program or override the signal some how so I wouldn't put all you faith in the chip key theory
