I checked and all bolts were torqued down extremely tight. The movement was in the spring-loaded swing arm mechanism, which couldn't be tightened more. I even installed my OEM mirrors on the swing arms hoping that it was just the aftermarket mirrors, and not the arm assembly. I had been using the Rugged Ridge mirror movers, which were rock solid. I bought the Quadratec Automatic Mirror Movers hoping to regain full use of my passenger mirror, which I did get. I really wanted them to work, but unfortunately I couldn't justify paying $250 for a product that addresses one seasonal issue (retaining mirrors in factory location with doors off) while causing two new constant problems (vibration in my mirrors and heavy resistance against an open(ing) door).

These comments make me think your mirrors were not correct OR I got a really good set of Automatic Mirror Movers. I'm still working on the video, I really need my wife to ride along as I can't hold the camera steady enough to make it worth posting. Also, while resistance is present mine isn't heavy at all. I think it feels more like a normal car door now as opposted to a jeep door without any resistance.

If you really wanted the AMM I'd order another set and see if they work better, you may have just got a lemon with your first set.

Nice writeup. Thanks for taking the time to do that.

If you hadnt shared, I never would have known this was a new product.

Certainly solves a problem Ive been throwing a lot of money at by buying a total of 2 extra sets of mirrors. (one set for half doors, one set for no doors using the Die Tec mounts)

Im anxiously awaiting the video before purchasing these.

Quadratec was going to send me a second set in exchange. After thinking about it overnight and considering the warning that the vibration was deemed normal, plus the added resistance, I decided to go another route entirely. In hindsight, I wish that I had waited a few months until the product had been on the market, customer tested, and all manufacturing bugs worked out. I was really excited about the mirrors when I saw the promo video on Facebook, so I pre-ordered a set immediately.

Nevertheless, glad that you're having success with yours! I assume that issues that I faced will be addressed in subsequent generations.

Got a video today, here they are mounted at 60 miles per hour on my way to work this morning. Speed limit is 65, but I'm slow as I was trying to get people to drive past me to demonstrate movement of the mirror.

Thanks for posting the video.

DO you think these would vibrate with no doors on? They look real solid with the doors.......no vibration that I can see.

I ordered a set, but they are now on backorder. Since I have a set of OEM half doors, I would sure like to get an extra set of the door filler plates, so I dont have to keep switching them. QTec says they arent able to sell spare parts like that yet.

Thanks and best,

D

Surfer, glad I could help. I'm currently doorless, I'll get another video today on my way home from work. I don't think it makes a noticable difference, but would expect a little more vibration due to cross winds.

I don't have half doors, but would love to get some tube doors, hopefully Quadratec will soon have the plates.

Still looking forward to running together. A group of us are doing a Calico night run on 16th of May if you're free.

OK, thats awesome! thanks for filming those with no doors on. I dont see any vibration.....

Now I just gotta wait till they are back in stock. I paid for a set, so just waiting....:

Oh, hey, did that cyclops mirror come with those? Is there 1 on each side? If they are aftermarket, where did you get them?

TIA
