Default how long with 35" spare

crap, here i am getting ready to order some 35's and I realize that the stock tire carrier isn't up to the task. I don't have the money for a new bumper/ carrier right now soooooo how long can I get away with running a 35" spare on the stock tire carrier with a spacer and which spacer is best to accomplish this? thanks, I don't want to trash my gate.

Depends on whether you have a need for your spare in ........... 3 minutes, 3 months, 3 years............. or never. Better to have and not need than need and not have.

I took a 3 1/2in drop hitch, flipped it upside down with a ball facing up and shimmed it with washers so the spare rests on it, spreading the load. Cheapo solution till I get a real carrier. Does make the tailgate a bit hard to open, so you kinda gotta play with the tire pressure to get it right.

As long as it ain't on the stock tire carrier...you can run it as long as you want to.

x2, this will help spread the weight out a bit and is only $15. On a week after mine went on the back.
