Default How Long Should It Take???

OK Folks,

Just how long should it take a Jeep main stealer to fit my new 4.88 R&Ps and my ARB lockers??

I am doing all the electrics and compressor fittings etc.

Bear in minde there are NO axle specialists here so there was really no option but so far they have taken SIX AND A HALF DAYS and still not finished!!!

Thanks

Roger

I dropped mine off at my guys shop in the AM, picked it up in the PM. If you know what you are doing it shouldn't take more than 2-3 hours on each axle.

When I did gears on my Bronco the shop I used took it on Fri night and I picked it up on Mon morning (they are open 7 days a week, no under the table stuff here). Cost me about 1100 out the door for parts and labor.

That's true. I read somewhere that a guy got them done at the dealer for 600 parts and labor. If that were true I would jump on it. Quoted 1700 by ok4wd.

Just FYI I was quoted 2-3 days duration and $530 for the labour. All the parts came from Quadratec excluding the two sets of pinion bearings.

I'll let you know how long it takes in the end and what their excuses are!!!!

thanks,

Roger

Well Guys,

We are at 16 days and still counting.

The latest excuse is they have "lost" the gauge to set the pinion height and are having to order one on DHL from either Miller tools (US?) or Mopar in Germany???????

This is what they told me 7 days ago and yesterday I was told it would be another 10-12 days, this must be the slowest DHL service ever.

In the meantime I have told them the rental Dodge Avenger has now become a free courtesy car.

regards
Roger

Sorry to hear that man, I was without mine for nearly 3months after a gear job.
