would 2.5 or 4 inch lift be better for my jk? i would use it mostly for everyday use, but once in a while i would go off roading. what are the pros and cons of both?

The 2.5 is plenty enough. Many here are running 35's with that set up

I think 4" works, but she likes 8".

Wait, what are we talking about?

Pros and cons, 4" will have more articulation, but will cost more. Vice versa for 2.5".

My wife just felt like adding that if you are skilled, a 2.5" will work just as well as a 4" in the hands of someone less skilled.

I guess I need to ask her about why she knows this....

I think close to the middle would be ideal for dual use. I plan to run a full 3" system. I am not doing any of it (wifes rules) until I save enough play cash for gears, lockers, suspension system, wheels, and tires. I like doing everything at once. The nice thing about the 3" systems I have seen, is a 33" still look fine, a 35" is a perfect fit, and for highway/light trail use a 37" could fit. It seems to be the perfect size in my opinion. Now my wife might not agree, she never did fall for that saying "size doesn't matter"

Run the 2.5" BB for a while and see if it fits your needs. It costs about $220 so not a big investment if you decide to swap to a larger lift down the road. You'll be surprised how well the JK performs stock or with just a spacer lift for clearance.

a complete 3" kit is enough for 35" tires, is well behaved on the road, and capable off of it. competence matters, size only helps. to be honest, i suggest just getting some better armor, wheeling the crap out of it, and decided then how you want to build.

Yeah, you might not want to find out! Man, sometimes you just need to think before you title something!
