Default How much rtv to use on diff for the cover to go on?

This is my first time using RTV and was curious how much should I be gooping on to the diff? Any pictures showing the right amount? I don't want to use too much and have it ooze out everywhere or not enough and have it leak.

I put about a 1/4 " bead around the one mating surface. No leaks on mine.

make sure all old stuff is scraped off and wipe it with brake cleaner. 1/4" is perfect

If it does ooze out, not a problem. Let it dry then cut/pull it off.

X3 on lube lockers. They work well without all the rtv mess.
