Default How to put this?

Would running a light 37" tires, have the same effect on everything as running heavy 35's. Put another way. A 37" tires(if one exist) that weights the same as a 35" tire have same effect on everything?

If you're not moving, yes. Otherwise, physics works against you. Mass is further out. At speed, it creates more force. Offroad, a lot harder on parts.

So, mass being equal. It is because they have to mount out further out, that more stress is created. Is less back spacing required for 37's?

The weight is further out. Put a weight on the end of a string and swing it in circles. Then start letting more length out. You'll feel it. Same thing with larger tires.

I put 37s on last year and in 6 months I replaced 3 rear wheel bearings, one front hub, a drag link, and blew up my front ring and pinion (D44). Oh, and the $200 synergy ball joint lasted 5k miles. My axle was sleeved and gusseted, had it not been, who knows what would have happened. Gussets and sleeve/truss is a requirement at 37s unless you have the money to buy a new axle if stuff bends. Sure, some people don't have issues, but you have to budget assuming you will.

Also just like a lever. The longer the lever the more force it can make. The larger the tire is the same affect. The axle shaft will have more rotational force on it the larger the tire is, no matter what the tire weighs. An axle shaft will have much more resistance on it when trying to turn a larger tire, compared to a smaller tire; therefor the axle shaft, u-joints, ring and pinion, etc will break mush easier. Hope this makes sense.
