Default How strong are stock Rubi rails?

I have some tubing bent up to weld onto the stock Rubi rails and I am questioning the strength. The tube will stick out about 5" from the front of stock rails, my wife and kids will probably use the new tube as step also. I want to make sure if I weld this on that it will not stress the stock rails too much. Has anyone installed the Woods kit or something similar, and how did it hold up to heavy abuse wheeling?

Strong enough to be used as side steps, yes, but they are still body mounted. With the tube sticking out farther you are more likely to make contact with obstacles on the trail. If you were to get hung up on the rail I could see it possibly ripping off, especially with the added leverage. I have the stock sliders and my friends say they can watch them bend/displace whenever I load them heavily. Just take a hi-lift to them and you can see for yourself. Overall I am still satisfied with them, I just figure I'll upgrade once they rip off. Guess it really depends how hard you plan on using them, an if you have the tubing mind as well right?

Someone needs to answer by showing their JK with its weight on the rock rails... Bonus Points if there is blood anywhere in the picture (no, photoshopped or painted in does not count)..

they are strong
hi-liftable - check
i did dented mine i slide side ways hard and hit a boulder left a nice shallow dent
it was a very noticeable impact.
they are indeed strong despite not being frame mounted it appears 2 or 3 layers of what appears to be plain body sheep metal is capable of securing the rock rail too.

I agree they are strong, but there is some play when you hi-lift on em. My buddies frame mounted rails don't budge a smidgen.
