How wide can i go
Hey guys,
I've been thinking about lifting my jk for a while and sitting on 35's. But i always find my self jamming out at the last second, Mostly because of cost(+8k), mpg and power afterwords.
But i found that the tire company pit bull makes tires that are 33*13.5*r17
What would i have to do to fit that on my jeep? Would just a simple level and flat fenders suffice or would i have to much rubbing issues?
Other notes,
My jeep is already running a stubby front bumper
its a 2dr with no suspension mods.

Do you guys think the 33*13ish robs more power than just running 35s?
One of my main reasons for not wanting 35's is switching out the drive shafts...
Im worried about getting 33's and regretting for 35's though. All i know is with 65xxxkm on my stock tires there looking for a replace.
Also did you guys change you rims to a style with an offset?
Rubbing issue's would suck i love the turning radius of my stock jk.

You need to search around and see what works for guys on the forum. If you are planning on running a 13" wide tire, then you are going to need to use spacers (if you stick with the stock wheels) or at the very least buys aftermarket wheels with 3.75" backspacing. Keep in mind, that adding spacers and/or aftermarket wheels will add additional strain to the ball joints, suspension components, etc.
Regarding power loss, you will experience some, but that is mostly due to a larger tire, which will lower the rpm's overall, unless you re-gear. So, yes...a 35x13 will rob more power than a 33x13 bc the engine will have to work harder unless you re-gear
Hope it helps!

I never tried the 35 but yes, I do think the 33X 13.5 will rob more then the 35 X 12.5.
Seriously, mine are terrible of fuel consumption & power loss... I'm looking into a supercharger set up.. =) and some 35... =)
Yes, I did change my wheels(for looks and backspacing)but I run spacers with my winter setup, no problem...
Everyone I've met who runs 33s wishes they just went bigger to 35s. I say just get what you want the 1st time instead of settling and being disappointed and/or upgrading again later on. You only live once!

And once you go to 35's you will wish you went with 37's because they sure give the 4 doors a better look, especially if you run flat fenders. I run 35's with a 4" lift. Have just a little tread left and then migrating to 37's. Couple of months....
