Hydro Assit or Fox ATS
I have a PR44 with ARB locker. I'm thinking of going with a Hydro Assit or Fox ATS. Do anyone have any pro's or Con's on this.

Holy cow!! At $420 for that thing, no way!
First, a steering stabilizer that's not the OEM version is pretty worthless. If all the parts/pieces are operating properly in the front end, you don't even need a steering stabilizer. I haven't run one for a year or so. (35s, 3" of lift) Second, the hydro assist is the next reasonable option after an OEM steering stabilizer, but I don't see that as a 'fix' for such things as death wobble. It's more needed for wheeling with larger tires (I think most will tell you 37s and above). EDIT - It will prevent problems with the steering gearbox and pitman arm. Heck, at $420, with a little of your own work, you could have hydro assist for that price. |
Agree with everything said above. $400 for a steering stabilizer is just stupid stupid stupid
The only upgrade to a stock steering stabilizer would be replacing a damaged stock one with another stock (or sub $50 one), or going hydro assist. Don't not waste $400 on that fox one |
My hydro assist cost less than that steering stabilizer fyi, but i did do it myself...

PR44s are designed to run with dual Fox ATS stabilizers and PSC hydro assist.
