Default Hypertec question!

Just got my hypertec in the mail today (wow)! Reading through the instructions, it says that if the vehicle has satellite radio, I MUST have the fuses removed to disable the devise BEFORE programming. Can I get some guidence to the appropriate fuse to disable the satellite radio (I have sirius radio/mygig).

Thanks for any help I can get.

Fine.....Dont upgrade it then see how much crap is that. Listen if you want the latest and greatest then just comply it doesnt cost you anything for the free upgrades just a few moments of your time. You can update while you read the forum reviews on the next gadget you want. Also if you are having troubles with this programer you can refer to the vendors section there is a whole selue of Q&A to get this to work properly.

Good luck

You don't "have" to update it, but to get the latest/greatest version of the software, etc it's definitely recommended. Now, I never noticed the thing about pulling the fuses for Satelite radio and I didn't bother with that. Just loaded the softward onto my computer, ran the update, to make sure I had the most up to date version, then went out to the jeep, rolled down the window, plugged in the harness so I could have the door closes and still access the programmer, then plugged it in and followed the directions. Couldn't be easier. If you want to double check about the satelite radio, go into the Sponsors section, there's a hypertech thread there, and ask about it. Or PM the rep who posts in that section, he's very helpful.

I just did mine again last night after getting the Jeep back from the dealer. Ironically, I only pulled one fuse initially (M13 , I think - a yellow 20, I know). This time, I was forced to pull M10, M12, and M13.

And do take the few minutes to load the CD in your 'puter and update the programmer. In case you are as computer illiterate as I am, there are these people called "programmers" or "coders" and they are constantly refining and tweaking the codes. They are never satisfied, Kinda like us with our Jeeps.

When u say that u were "FORCED" to pull M10, M12, M13, did the hypertec prompt this? I'm still @ work, so haven't had an opportunity to 'play' with the thing yet.

Thank's

"Forced" is a strong word.

My understanding is the Sirius radio requires a fuse pull to avoid the 7e wormcode error.

The first time I tried t use the programmer, I got the 7e error, so I pulled a fuse (M somehting, yellow 20) and that killed the radio. 7e error went away and the programmer worked just fine.

Same fuse was pulled to "deprogram" the Jeep before the dealer visit last week.

When I reprogrammed last night, I pulled the same yellow 20 and the radio still worked. Odd. So, I tried it anyway and got the 7e error. I remembered somebody else here pulled M10, 12, and 13 and had no issues, so I pulled those, too, and it worked just fine.

Point is, if you want the programmer to work, as I'm sure you do, you may need to yank a couple of fuses. M10, 12, and 13 seem to be the ones.

Good luck and I hope this helped...

I went through the programming sequence only to get a "worm" code/failure at the end...pulling the 3 fuses allowed me to get throuh the programming.
