Hypertech Max Energy Tuning Issue
OK trying not to sound like a dummy here, but I just purchased this new power tuner, and am a little puzzled on how to set it for the max performance. I had one before for my chevy suburban and the tuner did everything. This one is a little different. I want to know is there a straight tuning mode that it does itself, or do I have to input the tuning ie: rev limits, shift points and so forth for the max tuning. I was kinda hoping it would do all that by itself. Has anyone purchased this unit and if so what did you set it at for the max tuning. With the exception of an Airaid and magnaflow muffler, all is stock on my Sahara 4 door. Help!

Frist you need to decided if you're going to run regular fuel or premium fuel. Second you will need to set your cooling fans on/off temp to 195 since you are still running the stock thermostat. I know I was a little sketchy the first time I tuned a vehicle, but there really is nothing to it. If you have anymore questions post up and I'll be sure to get them awnsered for you.
Darnell,
I keep reading about the JK's computer being able to adapt to mod's so it can bring engine performance back to stock. Will this also happen when using the Hypertech Max? In other words, will the stock computer adapt to the Hypertech Max programming over time and essentially bring performance back to stock or does the Hypertech Max disable this functionality?

The Hypertech replaces your computer program! It takes necessary information from the old program and inserts it where needed in the new. As always, the computer will make adjustments when you increase/decrease altitude or change gas.
Thanks all. Whats interesting is that when you load the software disc in your computer and look at the instruction manual it gives all these different instructions for different settings. What I failed to realize is that the programmer covers other vehicles other than the JK. So there are settings that are in the instructions that you wouldn't see when you try to load in your vehicle. In other words, the programmer knows what features it can tune for your vehicle and will only give you those options to select. So there wasn't a setting for Top Speed limit and Rev limiter, and Shift points for the JK. I ended up calling tech support at Hypertech and they were very helpful and explained this to me.
