I bent my tailpipe - what should I do?
I and Redrockjk have our mufflers off. The tail pipe ends past the rear axle (closer to the tail gate side) so there is no worry about fumes. The only side effect is that there is still a little reviberation (sp). Matt says taht it is worse with his hard top on. I have the soft top and it is hardly noticable. I do like the sound. It gives it a great rumble/growl. Could be a good mod. People spend over $300 for this sound. Our cost = $0.

I think you'd have to cut a good bit farther than the muffler inlet for fumes to get back in the vehicle. Always good to play it safe, but 2" off your tip isn't gonna hurt.
Hmm, maybe the added backpressure will give you more torque... lol jk. I would just hack off the last few inches. or you can buy my stock muffler.... if i can find it. hmmm where did i put that thing?
But easy to do. One bolt and the 2 rubber isolators. If you were really worried (which I'm not), you could take off the muffler and go to a shop and have them extend the pipe to come out all the way like a straight pipe. I stopped by and checked one shop out. They wanted to weld it on and I like having the option to put the muffler back during our longer trips.
No sound clip.

I couldn't give you a sound clip anyway, b/c my Jeep is still with the dealer for warranty work. Plus, the sound clip would not sound right after deteriorating it by posting it online. The best way to hear what is sounds like is to go and take it off to hear it. 5 minute job. One bolt and the 2 rubber isolators (which they can be a b*tch, but use a grease or WD40).
Yes.
Yes.
