Go with a 3 inch, don't stress over which company you get, most of them are good kits so just get one that you have seen talked about a lot. I have the full traction econo kit with the front track bar and Im extremely happy with it.
I love how when a new vehicle comes out, people appoint themselves resident experts, and try and re-invent the wheel. He has NO idea what he is talking about. There is a place for a one inch body lift, they dont "suck", and provide several advantages. One (specifically for the above "bandwagon jumper")-JKs need little lift to accomplish 33s or even 35s. If you have a 2 door, I would worry about the long term durablity of the rear shaft on the road (offroad they are a bit thin, and can get banged up quite easily) when lifted, so a 1 inch body lift can lessen the angle by enabling you to run as little suspension lift as possible. Two-ever try and change a clutch (most probably havent), but, in the future engine maintenance at the bellhousing is MUCH easier with a 1 inch body lift installed. Three- the factory will not bitch about a one inch body lift, and depending on what the dealers attitude is where you are, suspension lifts may cause troubles, and I think we all are worried about warranty issues with the bugs we have right now. Four-sooner or later someone will figure out how to raise the gas tank with the body lfts installed, and it will help breakover angle. And last, a one inch body lift does not induce the increased leverage that the taller 2 and 3 inch body pucks cause at the mounts, so factually, they do not "suck". The only faults I can find with them as directly related to the JK right now, is that the gap at the rear bumper is unsightly (not a problem if you get an aftermarket bumper, and adjust the build at the time of order), and two, the cost is out of proportion right now. I have no idea how the JK body mount/body lift kit from daystar can cost almost 300 dollars???? It actually has less components than a similar TJ kit (which is 100-120 dollars at major vendors), so I hope it will come down. Sorry for the rant, but the opinions expressed needed a contradictor, because they are just that, opinions, and not based in/on fact.

I know this particular thread has been dead for sometime, but I just did a search for "Daystar body lift" and saw this.
I totally agree. I have had a one inch body lift on both my YJ and TJ and plan on doing it again with the JK. One other positive is the lower center of gravity inch of body lift will provide compared to an extra inch of suspension lift.
Everyone has an opinion, but it makes sense to me to do a body lift if it gets me from 33s to 35s or 35s to 37s especially if you're already happy with your suspension lift/configuration. A one inch BL should at least be considered for anybody planning a well thought out build.
The price on the Daystar kit is RIDICULOUS! It does appear to be the best kit but should be about half the current price. If it were I would have one by now.
Go with what ever you can afford... Don't look back. If you can afford the full suspension lift, certainly do it. I went w/the FT Premium 3" lift and am absoulutely please with it... no complaints. I've talked w/Patrick at FT and I feel there is good customer service there as well. The quality is great too. There are a few really good lifts out there... just set your budget and find the best deal. Good Luck!
