ditto ! I installed the small self-contained air horn...."BAD BOY"
now they have deeper tone model called the "BAD BOY MAX"

I bought 'em at autozone - but there available at other parts stores too (pep boys etc)

its not cheap (39 bucks retail)...but it can be had on sale sometimes for 29 bucks.
I've got one on my wifes miata too.

I have an air horn off eBay. Has a compressor and tank in the trunk.

I have it wired to my stock horn wires so it works as normal. Great for alarm

I turned off beep on lock. It was cool for a while but got old.

certainly air horns are nice - but 400+ for the horns, tank, wiring and pump is a bit insane in my (2+ kids in college) world.

Harbor Freight has a cheap mini air horn. Much better
than the stock. And...you can use the 20% off coupon.
Whata deal!!

I hated my horn as well, and my boyfriend and I spent nearly an entire day listening to sound clips to pick out something better. I was literally embarrassed to honk my horn because it sounded so pathetic.

Ended up going with the Stebel TM80/2 Magnum and I'm really happy with the end result.
