Default i know i know ...

I know I should know this. Luckily have only needed to take it in once to the dealership, and it was for a leak in the front of the freedom top, from day one, when we drove it and there was a waterfall. They fixed it, free ...

this time I may not be so lucky. So on the trail doing a small hill climb. It stalled out. I went to turn the engine back over to start going again. Made a grinding/whirring sound.

Dont know what it is. Husband thought it may be the starter going out, that I got mud stuck up in it ... hopefully thats all it is. I AINT touching it since its under warranty though.

What do you tell em, when you were offroad and it started doing it???

I know you are to NEVER say you were offroad. Do i say i was driving up the driveway at my house????? We do have a big hill for our driveway. Uhm ... i dunno.

Help, so I can call them bright and early ..... oh btw, its still doing it 2 days later. After my 'drying' out period. Still covered in mud, top completely off

so just what should I tell the dealership.? So know for the future ... hahaha

More than likely its not the starter. You would know if it was a starter problem when you turned your key/not while the engine is running.

Id bet though that youre right about mud being packed up somewhere.. Fan maybe??

You shouldn't have to explain yourself to the dealer. You weren't rock climbing in it you were "driving down a graded trail". I doubt you'll have any problems with the dealer unless they are really shady..

I would tell them that you were out doing what jeeps are supposed to do. If they give you any gruff then tell them you will sue for false advertisement and then show them a Jeep brochure! Out of all the pics, there is only one of a jeep on pavement and its towing another older jeep. nuf said.

Default it was the starter!

so ... my husband was right.

They called. The starter isn't disengaging ... and needs replaced. Ohhh .... I get my jeep back tommorow or thursday.

They're replacing it. I beleive ... they didn't say anything on a cost, just that the part wouldn't be in til' tommorow. So ... beware.

Your starter may do the same thing .... hopefully it doesn't for any ya'll it sucks!
