I may have an engine problem but I'm not sure..
So while out wheeling today I hit a mud pit pretty good and wouldn't you know it some water got the air filter all wet and the engine shut off. The engine came back on in a sort a limp mode and I drove out of the pit. When I got out of the pit and popped the hood the air filter was somewhat sucked in like it got clogged or something. I removed the air filter and noticed a little and I mean a little bit (teaspoon) of water in the tube going to the motor. I removed the water in the tube and tried to start the engine. It started right up and the engine seemed to operate normally with the air filter off. I actually wheeled more obstacles and drove home at 60 mph after this occurred. The engine seems to be running fine but I am concerned I may have gotten water in the motor. I've heard of hydrolock, but not sure what that is or if I could have it. So here is the question of the day. How would I know? And is there any risk at this point, considering I have driven the Jeep some 20 miles after the fact. Shortly after it seemed like it took an extra turn to start up, but now it seems to fire up just fine.
When I got home I removed the entire air tube connecting to the intake. Inside the intake I don't see any water but I do see small traces of dirt/grime/etc..
I've had the engine 15,000 miles. I assume some of this is from today, but I'm not sure if its just normal..
Anyone out there with more engine experience than I have any suggestions/advice. Like I said its running fine, just a little paranoid.

A hydro lock is when I sucks enough water, coolant, or any fluid into the cylinder that the engine can't possible compress it so the engine locks and won't turn over, if you hydro lock it you would have had to remove spark plugs and crank it without them in to remove the water out of the cylinders. As far as your paranoid situation, as a mechanic your fine, if your still worried change your oil n filter and motor on

After further inspection it would appear the ram induction hood I have actually funneled water that came over the hood to the air box. It would also appear the KN filter i have saved the motor. I'm not sure if its toast or not but it definately took the worst of it. I will be looking to put the filter in a box of some sort going foward and review the snorkle options that exist. i don't like the look of the snorkles but I hate not having a motor worse.
