Default Idea for upgrading brakes.

I thought I might as well upgrade brakes while putting on my new wheel set because let's be honest a jeep can not stop in a dime id like a set up that can fit in 16 inch rims. I'm all ears for any ideas but should I just find good rotors and pads or is it worth it to do a brake overhaul and just get rid of the stock set up? Thank you in advance!

There are several available, Dynatrac, Teraflex and a couple others. There are several members here used both and hopefully they will chime in. Your challenge is going to get them shipped to you in Europe.

Well I have access to a APO box so I don't think shipping will be an issue. Also does anyone know of any good jeep part supplier that will ship free to APO while I'm on this topic. I get absoluty gutted by quadratec every time I order I got charged shipping once 30 dollars for hood latches and a antenna they shoved two huge catalogs in the box as well which weighed more then both items I purchased. Can I just upgrade rotors and brake pads or is that not worth it would I really get a difference?

I'm looking at PowerStop rotors and pads on Amazon right now as referred by one of the members! Really like the drilled hole and slotted look plus they have nothing but good reviews!

Worst pads I've ever run in my life. Squishy pedal and brake fade. Oh yeah the metal backing came off both sides causing some nasty squeaking. The rotors are ok though I guess

I have been running PowerStop on my jeep for 3 years, best stopping and longest last setup I have had on a Jeep. I liked them so much I upgrade are other vehicles.

Going with larger tires a brake upgrade is definitely a great idea for both off-road and on-road driving. Here's a link to all the info on our ProGrip brake upgrade package. You can install it yourself, and because you don't touch the calipers beyond swapping the pads, you won't need to bleed the brakes and deal with calibrating/tuning the ABS system to avoid that light coming on in the dash.

And here's a link to a story Off-Road Xtreme did installing and testing the ProGrip system:

A brake upgrade is definitely on my to do list. The Dynatrac Pro Grips definitely look like a good option.

I have a slight problem my wheel set is 16 inches and I don't think dynatrac or other options are in 16 inch diameter so any good options for guys running 15 or 16 inch rims?

I think some replies are missing this. Teraflex and Dynatrac need at least 17", correct? As does the Mopar big brake. So you are left with stock size rotor upgrades like powerstop, or just better pads?

lol, you beat me by a few seconds.
