Default Identify this wire!!!

So, I bought this 09 Sahara JK last summer and I found this random wire. I have asked this before, but I am not sure about the responses I got. Most believe that it was for an aftermarket rear view mirror. I thought it might be a hard-wire for a radar detector. It is hanging directly over the rear view mirror and it is not stock. It was fished up through the A piller and I can't see where it connects from. Any insight would be very helpful.

I recently found a Viper 3002 alarm under the dash as well. I'm not really sure if this matters at all, but I guess it could be for something related to that.

edit: I can't figure out how to flip the picture.

If you have a tone generator to trace wires you can put a tone on it and use the wand to trace it to its origin. I'm assuming it is a wire for the auto dimmer feature on the aftermarket rearview mirror.

Yeah, it looks similar. Assuming it were, would it be possible to convert this to power a GPS?

Looks like the harness for the viper alarm antenna. Installed a few of them in the past.

I am trying to wrap my head around this. Why would anyone trade in their Jeep, not give any of the Viper FOBs over, and take the antenna to their alarm?

Probably because they wanted to install it in a different vehicle. Costs a tiny bit less that way but why have an alarm in the first place, everyone ignores them and think they are annoying. An imobilizer is the way to go, silent and if put in the right area very very hard to steal the vehicle.
