Default IHE and ECU

I have read all of the forums about the merits of hemi versus rippmod, as well as some about disappointing results of intake/header/exhaust mods. What I was curious is if anyone had actual dyno results from, say, a Banks Monster Exhaust and Intake, a Gibson or Rugged Ridge Header, and a Superchips flashpaq (or some other similar setup).

A second question that occurred to me is whether anyone has tried head work to make the engine breathe better. Shave the head for higher compression, a little port and polish. I doubt a higher lift cam would be a good idea because the goal is really about getting more usable torque, not necessarily more horsepower. Thoughts?
