Default I'm an indecisive idiot.

In a land far far away I owned a 97 tj, with a lock rite locker in a Dana 35. It wasn't awful but I also didn't give a shit about road manners. My current jeep is an 07 two door on 35's with an automatic transmission and 4.10 gearing. The jeep is not a dd but it does get driven on long trips few time a year. I am regearing soon and that seems like a good time to add a traction aid. This is where my dilemma begins. As of now my choices are a rear selectable or front and rear trutracs. BUT, there is also the young man in me that says eff it. Put a Detroit in the rear, and remember how much fun driving before 30 was. I'm not a hard core off roader and probably could get by with open diffs. The only times I've been truly stuck were most likely because I had a locker ( poor choices). So, in the opinion of the interweb, what's best? Rear selectable? Rear Detroit? Or front and rear truetrac? Also, I blame typos, grammatical errors and spelling on the iPad and the illuminati. I'm super smart not super drunk. Or possibly the other way around.

I have a Rubi now so I am locked, but if I were building from scratch I would consider front true-tracs and rear lockers. Turning the front while locked can be a bear

I vote front and rear trutracs. You do not play in rocks, no turning on and off, no air/elec hose/wire to worry about. They are there working on those long road trips 24/7!

Other than bragging rights, doesn't really sound like you have a reason not to go with a pair of truetracs.

$390 for the front and $365 (after rebate) for the rear on summitracing. There may even be a rebate for the front that isn't listed.

Oh, and just to check, you have a rear d44 and not a d35, correct?
