If you are using the stock rims they will rub a little when flexing or turning sharp from what I have read. You either need rims with less backspacing about 4 1/2", spacers about 1 1/2", or about a 2 1/2" lift.

No. You need new offset rims, or wheel spacers. But you don't need lift.

Just to let you know. First I have no lift, but I do have Dick Cepek DC-1 16 inch Black Wheels and Mickey Thompson MTZ 12.50 X 33. I got run off the road and ended up in a ditch the other day. And I had to climb up an incline to get back on the highway. And the flex it caused I could hear it rub the fenders. Not bad, but enough that I did notice it. Snow was about 12-14 inches deep where I went in. It took a while to get out but got out under my own power. Just glad I didn't have stock tries on; I don't think I would have made it out by myself. Oh and by the way those tires and rims look bad as hell.

I have an 07 unlimited that I put 33x12.50.17 Dick Cepek FCII tires and 17x9 DC-1 rims on, like others have mentioned they rub when you flex the suspension and they also will rub when the suspension bottoms out when you hit a large bump going to fast on dirt roads.

I am running 33x12.5x17 MTZ's on procomp 7005 rims at full flex had rub on fenders at rausch creek. since then put on a M.O.R.E. 1" body lift and the problem has gone away.

Same as everyone else, need new rims. Different; you can get 2" spring spacers installed at most tire shops for about $250. Cheapest way to get the wheel well clearance and you will not have to change a thing suspension, steering or drive train. Plus is looks much better then stock. I like to stay away from body lifts. The JK really doesn't need them because the suspension is very accomadating to spacers on top of the coil spring and body lifts are too much work for what you get..

I have 33x12.5's, 17's with 4.5" backspacing and a 2" B.B.

With the sway bar disconnected, at full turn and full flex they still rub a bit on the front fender wells.
