i too got my jk for better gas mileage. My old ford truck is getting 10 mpg, i'm fixing to put 35's on it. It's my hunting truck. When the jk gets some of the new knocked off, i reckon it'll be the hunting truck at least some times.

I won't disagree with what everyone else said. I also think the hypermilers are crazy. I heard about the coasting, running stop signs, and following the big rigs too closely. That's why I only listed the things I was trying. Maybe everyone is right about the battery life, the starter, and the alternator. I've never had to replace anything besides a battery, so I can't judge how repetitive starts impact the mechanics of the vehicle. They're probably right.

Thanks for the answers, I was actually wondering if any of the mods improved mileage? I am happy with the mileage I get, although its not what some of you guys are getting.

What you really need is a 50 mph tail wind all the time. This weekend driving the 100 miles back from the mountains i had such a tailwind and got 33mpg at 75! If you factor in my drive up at only 12 mpg... not so good. But if you can get mother nature on your side... life could be grand
