285/75/18 (34.8 inches) on 18x9 with 5.5 backspace. Anyone know how they will set. Will they be out of fender under fender flush with fender? It sounds a bit too much backspace but a really good deal. I would go 35x12 but don't want the width. Will get height but without mileage penalty and walking of 35s. Or at least I think so? The higher the number the less they will stick out. Stock bs is 6. Usually 4.5 bs is needed to run 35s without rubbing. You would probably have to buy a set of wheel spacers to run those rims.

The width of the tire and the backspace are what you need to look at to determine if it'll sit flush or not. The height does not factor in. As mentioned above, you could encounter issues if you are trying to put your wheel too close to your frame (keeping it flush or under the fender).

My 275/70R18 (33x11) Toyo OC M/T's (9" wide XD Misfits 5" backspace 0mm offset) sit right a the edge of the fender. The shoulder of the tire protrudes beyond the fender and throws road debris all over the side of the Jeep. Your 5.5" BS should produce similar results, although you might rub your sway bar with the wider tires.

Dbmorejr- compared to your stock tires any tire that's more aggressive, even if it's the same size, will impact your mpg. With 5.5" BS you may rub your rear sway bar links.
