Default input on this set up.

Okay guys, I know there are a hundred threads out there on this because I think I have read most of them. I have done a lot of research and have came up with a tentative plan. I'm going to re-gear so I am going to do a rear locker also. I'm just looking to see what some of you experienced guys think of what I have come up with. I have an 07 X 3.8 auto with 35's and a 2 inch lift. My baby is my DD and mostly on the pavement but I do off road. And it's time for a locker. I'm looking at 5.13 g2 gears and an ected limited slip rear E locker. I'm sure there are better and worse set ups but is this a capable solid set up for my mostly on road use? Your input will be appreciated.

Sounds like a good plan. For a daily driver you want a selectable locker. 5.13 gearing is good as well.

If this is your DD and you don't offroad alot, I would not bother with the locker. The locker becomes a crutch and most people don't even need it for easy to moderate/hard wheeling. 5.13's are probably optimal for you with an auto and true 35" tires/ bumpers/rack etc..., but I have had great results from 4.88's - 70mph will put you at about 2400 RPM.

You also have a D30 I assume unless you upgraded, so if you do some hard wheeling with 5.13's you run a higher risk of damage due to the pinion size.

Everyone has an opinion, so there is mine!

The auburn ected uses clutches. I like the idea of having both l/s and selectable locker in one unit, but clutches wouldn't be my first choice for a vehicle driven offroad. If you want a limited, look at the truetrac. If you want a selectable, look at arb or eatons new e-locker.
(or you could get both front and rear truetracs for less than a single selectable )

5.13's are a good choice for a 3.8 auto on 35's.

If you have 3.21's, you will want a new front carrier. If you are one of the lucky few 07's with a rear d35, well, you'll probably want to do something about it.

I appreciate everyone's input. I'm going to go ahead and do the locker because I know me i'll be doing more and more offroading and later I will wish I had while I was in there. And yes I have 35 12.50 17 nitto trail grappler, bumpers front and back, winch and will be adding a rack and more armor in the future. Having a few of you experienced guys give your blessing to my decision makes me feel a little more confident in my choices. Still listening if anyone else wants to chime in.
