Default Inspection and tires sticking out...

This how it tends to be in Maine, your state is hopefully easier...

Well I went by the local shop that just does inspections and quick oil changes

I just came to chat with the guy and see if I could get my Jeep inspected today, so I'd have a long time before it needed inspection with the 37's on...

And the first thing the dude said is that's not gonna pass!

I currently only have 285's

The rear tire sticks out like 1.25" max and only on drivers side, is that a side effect of my 3" lift?

Definitely going to keep factory rims and tires to put on once a year just for inspection!

Do you have an adjustable track bar on the rear end or possibly a bracket? What do you have done to the front end so it doesn't stick out??

Without brackets or aftermarket bars, yes- the tire sticking out one side could be a side effect of your lift.

Buy some bald ass 235/75R16 Grand Cherokee tires/wheels off CL for $80.

Might look stupid but you can do some burnouts afterward and laugh about it. Oh yeah, ESP won't let you have fun in these. Nevermind.

How about this, screw some 3" plastic landscaping trim to the underside of your fenders. Probobly cost you $20 at home depot.

You should get an adjustable trackbar and re-center that front axle one of these days.

All the time you have spent researching and asking questions, and you still don't know what the different components on your lift do?

Both axles get pulled to one side. The higher you lift, the more they offset. Trackbar brackets will only recenter a specific amount, so adjustable trackbars may be a better choice. If you have a bracket, it's probably the wrong one for your lift. If you have an adjustable, it isn't set correctly. If you didn't get anything to adjust the centering ... there's your answer.

Tires should be even on both sides. You definitely need an adjustable track bar, and if you currently have one, it isn't set up correctly.

If that lift kit didn't come with a relocation bracket I wonder what else is missing. The trackbar relocation bracket is pretty important piece for a 3" lift.

I live in Maine too. With my lift and 35s mine wouldn't pass either so when inspection is due I put my stock tires back on

I live in Mass and from what I told the tread has to be under the fender but the sidewall can stick out. I have 285/75/17's and I'm just over legal with my rugged ridge wheels.

Strange, a 3" lifts should pull the rear axle to the passenger side.
