Default Installed a Smittybilt GEAR console

First post here ... I just installed a Smittybilt GEAR console in my 2010 Unlimited. I had to remove the drivers side front latch as it would not even come close to sitting down flush. So I removed the latch, then drilled a hole in the steal console support right below the hole in the hardtop. I bought some threaded rod and a small plastic "T" handle at Lowes. I then cut a small hole in the webbing portion and I now have a quick way to hold the top down like it needs to be. Hope this makes sense.

Not to bad, I just added some 3/4 inch brackets to the mount and that lowered it enough for me to fit my hand below the latch in order to lock the top into place.

Could you post some photos of how you made your brackets?

I am going to have to do what you did with the t-handle. I had to remove to get it to fit on my 2014 and it pops up now just enough to make me wonder...
