Default installing drake 4wd knob

I got the old stock knob off after pulling the hell out of it, now I don't know how the hell to get the new one on?? Inside of it I can see a screw sticking out, but when I try to push it on the tcase stick, nothing happens. I've beaten the hell out of it and it won't go on. I didn't get any instructions with it and I can't find any on the internet. Any help would be appreciated

Nevermind, I figured it out. Gotta pull back the tire tread pattern thing and loosen the screw.

Dont know anything about the Drake product, but if it is anything like our EVO SBS Plug which mounts on the same shifter that screw you see should be threaded and be accessible from the outside of the body. If you dont see a screw hole from the outside, possibly they have a removeable covering of sort over the thread access.

Or just give them a call. LOL

It's easy to put on as you noticed. just pull the "tire tread" off, unscrew the lockscrew, put it on the shifter, and then tighten the lockscrew. Then put the "tire tread" back on and you are done!

They are really quite easy to remove--just avoid the temptation to "muscle" it off. Put a piece of strong tape around the shaft just below the knob to protect the shaft's finish (packing tape works well). Open an adjustable wrench until it is slightly larger than the shaft/tape and put it at the bottom of the knob. Tap lightly up with a hammer to bump the knob off. Ignore everyone who will chime in that they don't want to hit themselves in the face with a flying knob (I guess they prefer to land on their butt in the backseat!). I've done this at least a half dozen times and never had the knob do more than bump up slightly and fall off to the side. But, if you're really worried about it, put a towel over it like you would a Champagne cork.
