Default installing interior accessories

I am about to purchase the silver dash trim kit for my Unlimited Sahara, as well as the polished silver door step guards and was wondering if anyone knew how difficult this would be to install. The dealer wants 225 just for installation and I figured it was something I could probably do myself but wanted to hear other peoples opinions.

It is as easy as applying a very large sticker. Take your time and help from a friend.

I installed the black plastic guards on my 4 door- took 4 mins. alcohol swab - peel and stick. I'm sure the dash ones are similar. Could be wrong. Good luck.

Really? my black plastic ones took more like 2hours.

I did the drivers side as you said. I didnt have any of thos little alcohol pads, so i had to use a small rag and some rubbing alcohol as a makeshift swab, I peeled tape backing off, lie in place, press down to adhere, stood back & had a beer so as to admire my technical expertise.

Passenger side went more like:

daughter took alcohol, daughter spilled entire bottle of alcohol all over passenger side door sill, step, ground, herself, etc.

massive crying ensued.

Changed daughter, swabbed daughter's tears.

went to corner store for more rubbing alcohol.

when i returned daughter had done the peel and stick with the tape.

...to the top of the rear fender where she sat it down after removing the backing.

massive crying ensued.

after i swabbed my tears, i went to work slowly pealing off the offending step protector.

man that stuff sticks good!

BACK to the store for more double sided tape. I kept the daughter in sight this time by tying her to the front bum... err... taking her along with me... yeah... that's it.

after that, it was a simple matter of reapplying the tape and putting it in place.

Then, I stood back & had a beer to admire my technical expertise.

good story...sounds like you're daughter is too young to remember this incident, but i am sure you will remind her when she's older.
