Default Interco Birddog rim question

Going to pick up Interco birddog rims 17x9 but not sure on backspacing...3.50" or 4.50" backspacing. Any advantages or disadvantages to either backspacing on an '09 unlimited sahara?

The BIRDDOG is on my short list of replacement wheels. Wish I would have kept the name and telephone number of the designer of that wheel and upcoming tire from INTERCO. Call them a d they should give you his info. He told me to wait until this years SEMA show because that new tire will be debuting along with a JK specific design of the BIRDDOG.

it would depend on what tire size you are going to run. If 37"+ I would go with the 3.5" bs.

I won't run anything bigger than 35's...still debating between 33" or 35" tires and also tire brand as well, right now just looking into rims.

Would love to check out new jk specific tire and birdog wheel but would like to pick up rims and tire sometime in the near future and hard for me to wait on something that's no debuting until November and i'm guessing there are no sneak peaks until SEMA, but if anyone has any info that would make it worth the wait then I can totally wait until SEMA debut

As mentioned, call INTERCO and ask for the designer's name and number for the wheels The tire is not "JK specific," it is going to be a 285/75r17, which is a first for them, and supposedly is going to be a "tweener"- AT/MT hybrid.

Took your advice and called interco and gave me designers # and spoke with him. He said there is no set time for release of the new birdog wheel yet and that it would be sold through chrysler dealers. Said it could be at SEMA or it could be two years out...he also said new birdog will be similar in design just with fewer holes and larger ones but same basic look. Also, he said he would shoot me an email with some more info. Guy had some great info and impressed with the customer service.

Good job following up. Looks like more info is becoming available. I talked with him about 6 weeks ago and didn't get that much. At least one or two things are certain, I won't be waiting two years to buy it from a dealership.
