Jack nut has everyone have used them on the JK for their rock sliders?

If so can you tell me your Experience with them.

Thanks

I've used them for my PSC body armor, not my sliders. Another name commonly used for them is nutsert. They are a huge PITA. It's easier if you use a special tool like from harbor freight to install them. I've never seen them used in the frame, just the body panels.

I used them with PSC rails. The nuts are OK, but the "tool" provided by PSC is a joke. If the rails had shipped with a more useful tool I'd have gladly paid an extra $20 or whatever instead of chasing around town putting together a tool that could actually be used.

The guy at the shop that I bought it from gave me a nut and bolt. Tell me that, this is the best tool to install them.

The proper install tool costs around $250.00 and will make your life easy if you have a bunch of them to install.

That being said if you only have a few to do you can manage with a bolt, washer and nut (drill out the threads).

Im going to try this tool . It seems pretty solid with no hinges or handles to break like some of the cheaper nutsert tools out their. It seems to go quickly if you use a drill. Ive ordered it but have not recieved it yet. Here are a couple links. One is a vid on how to use it.

Default Yea

I used a rivnut tool I got at princess auto (Canadian Eh) and it was all of 20ish dollars. It is damn near thrashed after installing the rivnuts for my PSC tub armour as they are the largest size the tool can do plus the tool is for aluminum rivnuts not steel. I am glad I got it for the install.

I am not sure if these would work for sliders in the frame as they would not compress or mushroom as much as the thickness of the frame compared to that of the sheet metal body is signifigant. Plus there is some decent leverage applied to a rock slider depending on design.

Here is my write up that has a little info and pictures on the tool

Good luck.
