I am as far as trail rides and on the go in the Jeep. At home I use a SUV type floor jack.

This one goes 21". I don't own one personally, but I like the concept.

All the guys I run with, including me, use bottle jacks, but to make the bottle jacks effective, we carry a dozen or so wood blocks. The blocks are hand to create a base for uneven ground, or to make the jack taller (either under, or on top). With blocks, the bottles are way more effective. My bottle is a 20t.

We stay away from Hi-Lifts. I've seen them break, slide out etc. Frequently when stuff breaks we are on trails with a grade---hi lifts are scary then.

Yeah I've seen hi lifts slide on an even surface, just doesn't feel safe
