Default Jacks stands while you install a lift

I'm going to be installing a teraflex 2.5 coil/shock, with front lca's, and new front and rear trac bars, this weekend.

I put on my 2.5 RC lift using just two jack stands at a time, switching from back to front. Have any of you done the same? Is it worth buying two more so I can lift the entire vehicle at once?

Also, has anyone installed a lift in the rain? Haha

Either way works, but it's always handy to have a couple extra stands and their not expensive. No rain installations for me. Just do the job with safety in mind, can't enjoy the new mods if you're squished

I used 4 when I installed my lift. At a later date when I installed my RC front LCA's I used 4 also, 2 on the frame and 2 to hold the diff, I don't trust jacks.
Sears makes a nice Truck/SUV high jack stand.
IMO, you can't have enough safety equip, 6 heavy duty stands and 4 light weights for holding the Fiat.

I have always installed lifts one half at a time (front and back). Doing it this way is also a little safer because you are keeping one half of the vehicle firmly on the ground. Unless you have a professional lift like they have at shops, I would recommend this method.

Never tried it in the rain though. I have a large garage and work in there.

Just be sure to chock the wheels still sitting on the ground.

Buy quality jackstands. Don't let this happen to you.

We were using 30? Year old jackstands on this one.

I've got a few sets of 3-6 ton stands from Harbor Freight that I use all the time to hold the whole vehicle up. I'll be doing that tomorrow while installing my new lift. Makes tire rotations easier too.
