The spare tire would bump up against the bumper instead of the tail gate. Without it being tucked up against the tailgate it would allow the tire to wobble and eventually destroy the tail gate and hurt my feelings.

 

What if you used the holes in the tire mount up top meant for a 37 and only mounted a 35"?

 

Yeah, we thought about that. On the current setting, the tire hangs about 2.5 inches below the tail gate. If I put it on the 37 inch tire setting, it only lifts it by about 3/4' inch. So, it would still hang about 1.7 inches too low. But thats all rough estimates. Can't be certain that it won't work, but I'm not willing to cut off the rear crossmember of the frame, cross my fingers, and hope for the best.

I know this is an older thread but in case anyone else wants to know, the teraflex carrier does work with the jcr dagger, it hits the bumper but is also tight against the carrier
