Jeep Jk 4BT diesel conversion
They did one at Trailjeeps back when it was part of Pollard motors in Boulder, CO. They may still have it as it was a difficult sell since it could not pass local emissions test. You could also call Oliver at the Colorado Northridge4x4. He was there when it was built and can describe its build and performance to you.

x2 on the bruiser converstions.
almost went this way for my swap. decided against it for highway speeds top out ~65mph with 4.10's @ 3k rpms. i also read the fumes are a pain when wheeling slow in the woods.
(i ended up doing a 5.3 LS )

This is not a plug, but Jeff Daniels in Pa. does this, and you can get a pretty good idea what's involved if you go to his site.
I believe he states it's about 100 hrs labor.
I'm sure being in Ca. makes it unlikely you'll come East, but take a look.

I meet a guy a while back that had done one. I don't reminder all the details, but he did say it wasn't easy or cheap. And holy hell the rattling of that engine was louder than my Harley with open pipes!

I've been looking at the 4bt but hold on. Banks had a 3.0 crd currently in a grand Cherokee at the sema show this year. Engine tranny setup it was not emissions ready at that point. I'm on the western slope no emissions here powerstroke has emissions deleted!
