Default Jeep in SolidWorks 3D DWG

does anybody have a 3D DWG of the JK for Solidworks. i would like to design my fenders and rockrails and bumper in 3D but don't want to waste a bunch of time measuring out and drawing the jeep itself.
thanks

haha, i've had that dream too! If I could sneak my jeep into work, I'd put the CMM on it and have it all done.

I asked the same question over in the JK talk section a week or so ago and got no responses. Maybe a couple of us could get together and divide the modeling work and compile an assembly. I think it hasn't been done by home builders because of the scope of work. Probably some of the aftermaket companies have done some or all the JK but are not interested in sharing their work since it would probably require 200-300 man hours of measuring and modeling. Your thoughts?

Could always send in an email to Jeep requesting it

Seriously though, at my job we've sent out a flattened model (one gigantic feature instead of each individual part) to people for making accessories/connectors. It dummies-down the model enough to not lose your IP while helping someone else out.

Worth a shot, email doesn't cost anything

i found a 3d model for sale on turbosquid .com search for jeep wrangler and it should come up. nt sure if the suspension is on it but its a pretty detailed 2dr model. its $129 for the file, pricey but considering the man hours if you want if it will save a LOT of time.

That's actually pretty wicked ... as long as we could guaranty that it is accurate.

Can any of the file formats listed, .obj, .3ds, or .max be imported into solid works and edited? The model looks outstanding and price is reasonable. I'd be willing to split the cost.
