Default Jerry Can Mount - Need ideas

Guys/Gals,

I purchased a couple of new NATO (NON-CARB) Jerry cans and would like to see (pics) or hear ideas for mounting them on my jeep. I am running stock bumpers and i do not want to purchase a bumper/tire carrier combo just to mount the cans. I was hoping that someone knew a guy, that knew a guy, that did this once and could share their knowledge I wanted something that could mount to the spare tire or just behind the spare tire and carry two cans. thanks for your help!!

Found a couple things for you... look through this thread:

Also, this is a rotopax thing but it wraps around your spare tire:

Due to weight on the stock tailgate hinges, using an aftermarket rear bumper with attachments or spots for jerry cans would be the best way to go...

On the modern Jeeps there aren't really any options out there..... I'd personally (and did) go with the OR-Fab tire carrier. Other than that, you're fabbing something up yourself.

You can mount the old school Jerry can mounts inside the cargo compartment.

Alternatively, I installed an interior cargo rack and put the mount in that rack. It works with the top on or off. I just pull my can when I don't need it with me.

Warrior adventure rack. You also need to install the tailgate plate. Works great, but probaly gonna go thru another set of hinges.

Man I do like the way that thing looks but I just can't pull the trigger and do it... gonna save for the tire carrier with mounts.

Guys I appreciate the ideas. I think I may be stuck with a tire carrier w/ Jerry can mounts like the orfab. I like the over the tire rack but they only hold 75lbs and two full Jerry cans would be over 80lbs.
