Default Jet ECM Chip Problem

I found my ECM and installed just like other on here (3rd module out from fender), although the instructions didn't specify this one, i had to do a search for some pics from guys who had done the install.

anyway, first, the chip isn't secured to the ecm in any way, it just pops off without much pressure. so i taped it on temporarily, i thought i'd get some zip ties for a permanent secure.

PROBLEM IS...the little electrical icon on the dash blinks when the chip is installed. so something's definately wrong. thought i'd see if anyone else had some insight on the install before i call up Jet's hotline.

The chip definitely shouldn't pop off! It should fit snuggly but securely to the ECM (there should be a piece of plastic that actually holds it place like the stock harness). Double check your connections and I assume you disconnected the battery when you installed the chip.

That's not right at all - it should snap in very securely. Make sure there are no clearance issues with other bits in the way. Here are a few pics:

I know you got yours fixed, Murray, but I had problems with mine tonight. It fits pretty snug to the ecm, but the harness will not fit snugly to the chip for some reason. I have it taped at the moment, but would like it to look a little more professional at some point. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks, HBC

Anyone? I feel like I might have done something wrong because it didn't 'snap' into place. It works fine, but I can't leave it like this indefinately.

Default Jet chip

I had trouble getting the stock harness loose, make sure you pull the little red keeper or latch. After you install the module push firmly in to place, then make sure again little red latch is closed.

Default Jet chip

I've had mine on for over a year.

The only issue is the harnesses (red) locking clip broke during the initial install.
The harness fits so snug on the chip that it has not been an issue.

I am going to look into a replacment locking clip some time in the future if they even sell them.

Is there a sequence that you have to follow to get the harness off of the ECM? I got mine off, but I don't think I did it the right way because I popped a little piece of plastic off.

The result?

Like the chip or not? Feel any improvement?
