Default Jet Stage II performance chip

I have 2 dr X 6 spd with AEM Brute Force CAI, Magnaflow Firebird single in dual out performance muffler and Stage II Jet chip. My question here is how many folks have put the Jet chip on and what are your results (seat of pants and or dyno)? I have followed 1BADJK and his results, but are there any others? My personal experience is NO seat of pants results, in fact the Nov. 18 TSB with the exhaust and CAI really feels better than with the chip in. I know, I don't have dyno tests so my results are subjective, but I am just referring to a noticable difference. I am retesting to confirm, but I think my mileage without the chip is better. I have run it with all 3 grades of gas with no noticeable changes. There is no real need to run high octane if you have no pre-detination anyway. My opinion at this point is that the chip is not worth the cost. I am a sucker for trying performance upgrades but I did wonder before I bought it...how did Jet get a jump on everybody else for programming, is this a generic programm that just adjusts timing and fuel at wide open throttle? I don't drive at WOT very much, I am more interested in level increases in the normal RPM ranges that I drive in traffic everyday. NOT STARTING AN ARGUMENT HERE, just want others opinions who have tried it.

To be honest with you. I don't think the chip is worth the $250.. Sure it added a couple pony's and torque #'s.. But for everyday driving I pull it.. I get better MPG's without it.. I do use it if I'm towing or wheeling.. It makes a difference.. Seems to produce more under loads or WOT.. If your on a tight modding budget don't waste the money.. Hopefully others will come out soon.

Thanks 1BADKK! I have always been a big fan of Hypertech and Superchips, but my understanding is that they have no plans for the immediate future to produce one. I think that may change with as hot as this new JK model is turning out to be.

I would feel the same way but i have experinced quite a bit different situation with the jet II i put in. Used in conjuction with an Airaid and a Flow master Hushpower II muffler and some synthetic Lub. 18.3 before burning Mid grade, 20.8 after 3 tanks of Mid grade. Power and sound are obvious. no Dyno.
Does not bog at low rpm, 1500 - 2000, power through to 5000+ no hisitation.

Could be not enough back pressure may be hampering your results, same engine. I am at 6000 ft. Foothills Denver colorado,

While i am on that this rubi just eats snow and we just got a ton, i was going places all the "big trucks" couldnt, grill high snow, lock and load. Its a Jeep, took on in the bumper gues i will have to get a new one. Oh Darn

what a blast!!!!

I put one in my 6 speed 4 door and noticed more low end torque. It really helped new JK drivers who were always killing the motor at startup until they got used to the drive by wire pedal. I sell quite a few but I would put my money into air intake and exhaust first.

Kermit,
Thanks for the pics. You were reallllly cold. Curious, how do those BFG's handle the snow? Do you think they need to be siped? Waiting 9 weeks now for my rubi. Hope I get to play in the snow

I am from littleton colorado, we just got 32" of snow in about 36 hours, it was fantastic, the bfg did great, the JK was plowing snow grill high and went where 99% could not. The lockers were a lifesaver. TURN THE EPS SYSTEM OFF IN DEEP SNOW !!!!.

otherwise short of pulling someone out and them proceeding to back up into me, it was great. I will need a new bumper but wanted one anyway, now someone else is paying and i can get exactly what i want.

happy holidays
