Default JK axles for TJs stronger

Did you hear about the JK axles adapted for TJs by Mopar? They made the axles thicker for them. 0.375-wall tubing instead of 0.250 both up front and in the rear, according to JP magazine.

I would think the 4 door JKs need it more than TJs. Why not do the same to new model year JKs?

Because Chrysler is run by a bag of idiots.
Why not make the axles not bend?
Why not make a diesel?
Why put a mini-van engine in?
The list goes on and on and on.....

I agree. The Chrysler board meetings are probably a mentally vacuous event.

Second paragraph, second sentance of the article

While a bolt-in version of the Dana 44 axle is currently available for the '07- present JK Wrangler, the Mopar preformance division wanted to offer this same axle upgrade to those with the '97-'06 TJ Wrangler.
These are re-badged Dynatrac axles

As for the beefiness you can already get yours, in the last issue of JP there was an Article about a beefier JK version from Dynatrac
